The Empty Bowls project was a success!  Our 1st and 5th graders made beautiful bowls that were in high demand at the Second Harvest Food Bank's luncheon.  Keeth's bowls stood out because of their beautiful colors with scalloped edges and fish and leaf shapes.  The students made 246 bowls which provides enough assistance for 38,000 meals for hungry children right here in Central Florida!  This is a community service project we should all be proud of.  Thank you to all of the parent volunteers for your time, hard work and support!

If you would like to teach your children more about the hungry in our community, Second Harvest is hosting a one-hour information session and tour called "Food for Thought."  I'll be contacting Second Harvest to set up a day during our winter break when we can go as a group.  If you're interested in joining us, please e-mail me at This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it   If you would like to get more information or find out a time when you can go, contact Second Harvest at 407-295-1066.
